Why We Built TianJiBu

Traditional Chinese astrology services suffer from three problems:

• Outdated charting tools — Most calculators on the market ignore overseas time zones and skip true solar time correction, leading to inaccurate hour-pillar assignments.
• Inconsistent reading quality — The gap between free online generators and paid practitioners is enormous, and users have no reliable way to judge quality.
• Opaque pricing — Readings range from tens to thousands of dollars, with no standardized service tiers or transparent pricing.

TianJiBu rebuilt the charting engine from the ground up, integrated a true solar time correction system, and developed a structured interpretation framework rooted in classical literature. Our goal is a platform that delivers consistent quality, transparent pricing, and a modern user experience.

Research Team

Our interpretation system is maintained by a dedicated research team whose members have studied BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu for years, continuously organizing and validating traditional rules.

Core activities include extracting structured rules from classical texts, back-testing those rules against documented cases, and refining accuracy and expression based on user feedback. Every rule update undergoes collective review to ensure consistent quality.

• True solar time correction — Based on the Spencer 1971 equation of time and birth-location longitude adjustment, ensuring precise hour-pillar determination.
• Zi Wei charting engine — Strictly follows star-placement rules for 108+ stars, covering the 14 major stars, six auspicious and six inauspicious stars, the Four Transformations, and auxiliary stars.
• Structured interpretation system — Draws on canonical texts such as Yuan Hai Zi Ping, San Ming Tong Hui, and Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu, incorporating hundreds of validated rules to deliver personalized, in-depth reports.
